Why I Started This Blog

🧁 1. Why I Started This Blog

So here I am with my first post, kicking off my food blogging journey! I’m not yet set up to film or finalize a recipe, and truthfully, I don’t even know what my first one will be. Okay—I have a rough idea, but it won’t be ready until next week at the earliest. Welcoming you into this space is the beginning of sharing my passion for food through my dedicated food blog.

But starting imperfectly is better than waiting for everything to be perfect. The truth is, this blog has been on my mind for years, and now I can finally say: welcome to my food blogging experience.

Mel Robbins has transformed countless lives through her simple, science-backed strategies—like the 5 Second Rule—that help people push past fear, take control of their habits, and create lasting change. In fact, I used the 5 Second Rule to launch this blog.

Some of her messages that gave me the push I needed:

  1. You are one decision away from a different life.
  2. You can accomplish anything in 30 minutes a day.
  3. 5…4…3…2…1…Just start.

After hearing that the average person spends over six hours a day scrolling, I realized: I do have the time—I just wasn’t using it intentionally. Ironically, while searching online for a new pair of noise-canceling headphones, it hit me: this could be my 30 minutes. Just off the heels of attending the Mel Robbins “Let Them” tour, I finally saw it clearly—I was the only one standing in my way.

So, I opened up ChatGPT and searched:

  • “How do I set up a food blog in WordPress?”
  • “How do I install recipe cards in a blog post?”
  • And finally… “How do I start my first post?”

And here we are, ready to welcome you on my unique food blog journey.

2. My Current Food Blogging Setup (or Lack Thereof!)

Right now, I don’t have a full recipe lineup, a polished camera setup, or any fancy filming equipment. But I’m starting with what I do have—and that’s enough.

Don’t expect matching jars, elaborate storage solutions, or an overabundance of serving platters. We’ve pared down our kitchen to a small set of high-quality essentials that we love and use every day. This blog will reflect that: real food, real life, as you are welcomed into my food blogging space.

3. What to Expect From Future Posts

I’m Lindsey Hagopian, and I love making dinner. Cooking connects me to something greater than myself—especially when preparing ethnic Armenian dishes that carry generations of meaning. It’s self-care when I fuel my family with fresh, whole ingredients after a long day. And it’s creative when I take a little extra time to make a dish just a bit more beautiful.

Eventually you will find simple dinners, cozy meals, and honest reflections—plus the occasional kitchen fail. My intention is not to impress but to share with you the essence of being welcomed to my food blog. If you love food that feels good to eat and to make, I hope you’ll join me on my food blogging journey.

Additionally, I’ve taught yoga for many years and weave mindfulness into my daily life to help manage stress, anxiety, and all of life’s moments. I’ve often felt there’s a connection between yoga and cooking—but I never quite figured out how to blend the two. So I’ll be exploring and sharing that here, too: how mindful movement, breath, and food all come together to nourish not just the body, but the whole self, as part of my food blog welcome.

Welcome to my food blog! I hope you continue to follow my journey.
